Privacy

What we hold

• Your email address and password hash, so you can sign in.
• Your display name, if you give one.
• Your scan history, saved products and preferences.
• Your subscription state.
• Anything you deliberately send us about a product.

Your scan history

Nobody at FoodSignal can read it. That is not a policy commitment, it is a property of the database: the table holding your scans has no staff access rule at all, so there is no query an operator could run to see it.

What we count

We record that a barcode was scanned and not found, and that a search returned nothing. Those counts carry no account identifier — we want to know that ninety-four people wanted a product, not who they were. That is how we decide what to add next.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not run advertising trackers.
• We do not build a profile of what you eat.
• We do not store card details — a payment processor handles those.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Account settings. Your history, saved products, preferences and subscription record go with it. Product information you sent us stays in the food database but stops being linked to you: the facts about a food are not personal data, the link to you is.
